조 다리온이 작사한 인기곡 입니다. 

1965년 브로드웨이 뮤지컬 '맨 오브 라만차'에서 

가장 잘 알려진 곡이며, 
피터 오툴 주연의 1972년 

동명 영화에도 삽입되었습니다.

 

이 노래는 돈키호테가 둘시네어에게 
자신이 기사로서의 의식과 사명감을 가지고 

일생을 걸고 추구하는 바를 이야기합니다.

노래는 세 번 더 부분적으로 반복되는데, 
마지막은 미겔 데 세르반테스와 그의 하인이 
스페인 종교재판소의 재판을 받기 위해 

도개교처럼 생긴 감옥 계단을 오르는
