"Naughty Marietta" 중 AH! sweet mystery of life Beverly Sills / Soprano Columbia Symphony Orchestra Andre Kostelanetz / Cond Victor Herbert의 1910년 2막 오페라 "Naughty Marietta" 중 AH! sweet mystery of life 이다. 미국의 명 소프라노 비벌리 실즈(Beverly Sills·78세)가 지난 3일 뉴욕 맨해튼에서 지병인 암으로 숨졌다고 뉴욕 타임스가 보도했다. 실즈는 1947년 필라델피아에서 ‘카르멘’으로 오페라 무대에 데뷔한 뒤 1980년 뉴욕 시티 오페라에서 고별 갈라 콘서트를 열 때까지 30여 년간 미국의 정상급 소프라노로 활동했다. 1979년부터 뉴욕 시티 오페라의 총감독을 10년간 지냈고, 2002년부터는 뉴욕 메트로폴리탄 오페라 극장(메트)의 이사회 의장으로 활동했다. 올 시즌 뉴욕 메트의 오페라 영상 중계 때도 현장 해설을 맡으며 오페라에 대한 애정을 보였다.
